How did you meet?
We were both studying for nursing boards at Starbucks in Bismarck, ND
Who made the first move?
Kennedie: Zach came over to me and asked if I was studying for the NCLEX, as he noticed familiar study materials I had. I have to say, though, I was the one who asked for Zach's phone number when we first met and initiated our first date.
What first attracted you to each other?
Zach: What first attracted me to Kennedie was her passion. Whether it's pursuing her dreams, advocating for causes close to her heart, or simply engaging in conversations about topics she cares deeply about, her enthusiasm is infectious.
Kennedie: I would say it was our mutual interests that initially attracted me to Zach, along with his kindness, genuine personality, and our shared adventurous spirits. He's always open to experiencing new things together.
What is your favorite memory with each other?
Zach: My favorite memory that we have shared together is picking out our dog Corduroy. We drove to Lancaster, Minnesota to see Corduroy's family when he was a young puppy. We knew Corduroy was the one when he kept coming up to the both of us. Kennedie would repeatedly ask, "which one is this one." The owner replied, "It's Roy again." We knew he was the one, and he has continued to provide us with countless new memories.
Kennedie: One memory that stands out vividly is our spontaneous trip to Havasu Falls on the Havasupai Reservation. The challenging 10-mile hike into the Grand Canyon, the breathtaking waterfalls, and the unforgettable moments we shared exploring together made it an experience I'll always cherish.
What is your favorite way of spending time together?
Zach: Going to Kennedie's family lake cabin, trying new food and restaurants together, taking the dogs out on hikes and to the dog park
Kennedie: Exploring the different cities we have lived in together, traveling, finding unique vintage items, and taking the dogs out for walks and hikes
How did you get engaged?
We took a trip to the Oregon Coast while family was visiting for Thanksgiving. The plan was to take photos for the family Christmas card, and during that Zach got down on one knee and proposed.
Why did you decide on a destination wedding?
We want to spend more than just a day with all our favorite people. We see our wedding as an opportunity for all those close to us to take a break from the world and create lasting memories. We believe everyone deserves taking a vacation, and we're thrilled to be a part of that experience.
